Data that speaks
Agency performance analytics, KPI dashboards, ElasticSearch and Kibana: before any model, you need clean, complete, readable data.
Deputy IT Director · AI · Multi-agent systems
Hi, I'm Sergio. For twenty years I've been building software and infrastructure, always with friends by my side. Today I lead IT for an international real estate franchise. Artificial intelligence is already here: my job is to make it pay off, every day, in processes and decisions.
I'm passionate about: AI applied to business
01 Artificial intelligence
Bringing artificial intelligence into a company doesn't mean adding a chatbot. It means reliable data, scalable infrastructure, automated processes and clear rules on privacy and security. That's the work I do every day.
Agency performance analytics, KPI dashboards, ElasticSearch and Kibana: before any model, you need clean, complete, readable data.
Microservices, containers and hybrid cloud designed to grow: adding an AI service becomes a new component, not a new project.
DPO training, GDPR processes and centralised identity: deciding which data leaves, where it goes and who uses it, before switching on any model.
CI/CD, monitoring and continuous releases: the cycle that takes an idea to production and keeps improving it, measuring its impact.
Foundations first, then intelligence. The other way round, AI stays a demo.
02 Multi-agent systems
Not a single AI assistant, but several specialised agents working together like a team: each with a precise task, coordinated by an orchestrator and checked by people. That's how I analyse, design and ship software today.
A person defines the problem, the constraints and the expected outcome.
A different agent checks the others' work and hunts for mistakes: whoever writes the code never reviews it.
A person evaluates, approves and ships to production.
AI doesn't replace the team. It multiplies it.
03 About me
It was my Computer Science thesis: a game that recognised colours through a camera. We didn't call it artificial intelligence yet, but the idea was already there: teach a machine to understand the world, and make it useful to people.
Then came the Immobiliare.it years: code, databases, portals for banks and major publishing groups. That's where I learned that software is worth as much as the problem it solves, and that a good project is, above all, a good team.
Today I lead technology at Mediatec, part of the Tempocasa group: infrastructure, security, architecture and people. And AI is already part of it: not as a special effect, but as an everyday tool, working alongside people.
“The best technology is the kind you don't notice: it works, saves time and leaves people the work that really matters.”
04 People and leadership
No important project comes from one person alone: it takes complementary roles, trust and a shared rhythm. Today AI agents work alongside every role, but it's people who bring innovation, guarantee quality and keep control of the data. That's why, wherever I work, my first investment is people: mentoring, clear goals and room for those who want to grow.
Keeps the course: goals, timelines, budget and priorities.
Designs experiences that make sense at first glance.
Turns design into fast interfaces, on every screen.
Builds the logic, the APIs and the data everything runs on.
The all-rounder who joins the pieces and speeds things up where needed.
Ships everything to production, and keeps it running.
05 Journey
Every stage brought a new challenge. And every time, the solution came from a software engineering principle I learned writing code and then applied to people, processes and business too.
next commit
AI is already in our processes. The next step is multi-agent systems in every workflow. And it's being written now.
Deputy IT Director · IT Project Manager
Strategy, architecture and security for the entire technology ecosystem, across hybrid on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
the challenge
Changing the engine mid-flight. The heart of the business was in the hands of an external vendor: we brought it back in-house without anyone noticing. Meanwhile, legacy systems were cleaned up and costs put back in order. Then we never stopped: we kept building and innovating.
the principle
// You build it, you run it while (production.isUp()) { measure(); improve(); release(); }
Whoever builds the software ships it and keeps it running. DevOps, CI/CD and monitoring: no walls between those who build and those who operate.
how IT is lived → as a strategic lever, not a cost centre.
2023 · the leap
From projects to leadership: no longer one product at a time, but the entire technology ecosystem.
IT Project Manager
Real estate and franchise management systems, portals, apps, extranets, marketing and analytics tools for a network in Italy and abroad.
the challenge
Dozens of applications, countries and users, each with their own access. The risk was a jungle of systems that don't talk to each other.
the principle
// Separation of concerns identity = IAM.central(); apps.forEach(a => a.trust(identity));
Each system does one thing and does it well. Identity and permissions live in one place: an IAM system connected to all the group's software.
how IT is lived → in service of the business: every new feature has a cost and a return, and you work them out first.
2020 · the leap
Leaving a company where everything ran smoothly and starting over inside an international group.
From Senior Developer to Project Manager
This is where my career began, and I stayed twelve years. I was one of the first developers of the portal and of the Getrix management system, then led the real estate portals for UniCredit, Intesa Sanpaolo and major publishing groups.
It's still my school: a mentor who taught me the craft, highly talented professionals around me and the most important lesson of all. Software is made by the right people.
the challenge
A national portal and, alongside it, portals for banks and publishers: same data, different rules, no margin for error.
the principle
// Don't Repeat Yourself const engine = build("once"); storefronts.forEach(s => s.use(engine));
One engine, many storefronts: that's how you carry a heavy load without multiplying the work.
how IT is lived → on the front line: you write the code, you ship it and you own it.

07 FAQ
Sergio Lamanna is Deputy IT Director and IT Project Manager at Mediatec, part of the Tempocasa group, and lives in Milan. He has more than twenty years of experience in software: he was Senior Developer and Project Manager at Immobiliare.it and IT Project Manager at the Tecnocasa Group. He works on software architecture, cloud, DevOps, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence applied to business.
It means using several specialised artificial intelligence agents instead of a single assistant. An orchestrator splits the work among agents dedicated to analysis, architecture, development, testing, security and documentation, which run in parallel. An independent agent reviews the result and a person decides what goes to production.
Starting from the foundations: reliable data, scalable microservice and cloud architectures, governance on privacy and security (GDPR) and a continuous release process. Only on that basis does AI become an everyday tool rather than a demo.
He oversees the technology ecosystem of Mediatec, part of the Tempocasa group: IT strategy and governance, software architecture, hybrid on-premise and cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and data protection. He coordinates developers and DevOps, selects strategic vendors and leads the adoption of artificial intelligence and multi-agent systems.
